The ever-crazy Matt Holmen of Madison band PHOX checked in with us for an update. He also included a track from the new album Friendship. This is what Matt had to say:
"What's shaking? Hope summer is winding down well for you. It is indeed over here, as PHOX just finished our first full-length album, and we're super jazzed about it!"
"We're doing a crazy circus show at the High Noon on 9/5 to celebrate. It's the beginning of our tour with Sonntag, including 10 Baraboobian musicians (yeah, that's seriously what they call us), with Daniel and the Lion and John Paul Roney. Anyway, it will be the night we debut the record and we'll be doing pay-what-you-want physical CDs and hand-painted shirts at the show."
"Not to oversell you, but there will be costumes."
So, there you have it. A Baraboobian musician reunion, complete with costumes. Maybe something from Circus World Museum? We thought PHOX or any of the other bands could show a photo montage of the Badger Army Ammunition Plant in a psychedelic display on a projection screen behind stage. Doesn't chromium-infused ground water have some kind of hallucinogenic properties?
