New Polica song is more cowbell, less Auto-Tune

Madison’s experimental electronic pop quartet, All Tiny Creatures, are gearing up for the release of their new album “Dark Clock” via Hometapes Records May 28th. “I think there was a noticeable progression in our sound between 2009's Segni EP and 2011's Harbors LP, and it seems like there's been a similar evolution from Harbors to Dark Clock,” said guitarist Andy Fitzpatrick. “More influences started to seep into the mix, and we started making songs that seemed like they might be able to pass as pop music in a parallel universe.” 0 CommentsWatch Steve Earle at SXSW
I admit it. The hipster music schedule went out the window tonight. SXSW has so many genres of music to choose from for shows that it’s the old 'kid in the candy store' syndrome. Rumblings of a record company shindig with Steve Earle swirled on twitter, sparking my interest. 0 CommentsThe Orwells and Bleached play Scoot Inn at SXSW
Some of the best times to see a show at SXSW are the day parties where early slots bring in smaller crowds and somewhat more coherent bands. Scouring the day party line-ups for diamonds in the rough, The Orwells and Bleached immediately popped up on my radar at the Scoot Inn starting at 1pm. Grabbing a pedicab, I take in the early afternoon sunshine and shake off my fogginess from the debauchery encountered the night before. 0 Comments |
